4 ways we fixed traditional Los Angeles tennis leagues

1. No teams necessary

You want to play more tennis, but it’s hard to meet new players at your skill level, so you look to join a traditional tennis league. Even though you’re ready to play right now, it’s not that simple - first you have to find a team that will have you.

This process can be rough, think rushing a college sorority - you need the members and the all-mighty team captain’s approval to be awarded a spot on a team. Call us crazy, but we don’t think you should have to go through all of this just to play some tennis.

You can sign up for the Challenge League right now and immediately connect with someone in your area at your skill level. No waiting, no convincing a team captain that you deserve a spot on their team, just more tennis.

2. Simple registration

In traditional leagues, once you’ve jumped through all the necessary hoops to find a team, the registration process begins. Sadly this step is sometimes even harder than finding a team. Registration software can be so out of date and confusing that it feels more like you’re doing your taxes than signing up to play some tennis.

It shouldn’t be this hard to sign up for a tennis league. The Challenge League registration is simple, just enter your zip code and we’ll show you the singles and doubles leagues available in your area.

3. Choose your match times & locations

Now that you’ve gone through the traditional league process of finding a team and completing a registration that’s harder than the S.A.T., it’s time to play some tennis...sort of.

You will get an email from your team captain informing you that your season is somewhere between 8 to 12 weeks long and that all matches will be played at 7pm on Tuesday nights at XYZ tennis club… you know, that tennis club that’s 28 minutes from your house if there’s no traffic. Ugh.

But you want to play more tennis so you suck it up and go to your calendar to enter in your 8 matches and things just get worse. You have a happy hour that you really don’t want to miss next Tuesday and a parent teacher conference two weeks after that. But you want to play more tennis so you suck it up and go to your calendar to enter in your 8 matches and things just get worse. You have a happy hour that you really don’t want to miss next Tuesday and a parent teacher conference two weeks after that.

We get it. We’re all busy. Committing to a specific time, day, and location for 8-12 weeks isn’t realistic for most of us, and that’s why we don’t ask you to.We get it. We’re all busy. Committing to a specific time, day, and location for 8-12 weeks isn’t realistic for most of us, and that’s why we don’t ask you to.

When you join the Challenge League, there are no commitments. You can sign up whenever you’re ready and play as much or as little tennis as you want. If you don’t absolutely love the Challenge League you can drop out at any time, no questions asked.

The best part about the Challenge League is convenience. Play your opponents at times and locations that are convenient for you and climb your local rankings at your own pace to qualify for our free tournaments and year-end National Championship. If you’re not the competitive type, simply use the Challenge League to meet and practice against other local players at your same skill level. If you need a week off from tennis, you don’t need to ask some arbitrary team captain for permission, you can just take it.

4. Amazing Price & Value

By now you’re probably frustrated with just about everything about traditional tennis leagues and you might be wondering how can it get any worse? You have to hunt down a team, drive 28 minutes to play, you can’t even make half the matches, what else could go wrong?

Price.

Traditional leagues are very expensive for how little you actually get to play. Seasons are only 8-12 weeks long and then you get billed again to play against the same people in the same inconvenient format. Want to play singles and doubles? That’s going to cost more and you have to go through the same tedious process to find a team and sign up. It’s almost like they don’t want you to play tennis.

At PlayYourCourt our goal is to make it painfully easy for you to play more tennis and that’s why the Challenge League is only $4.99 a month with absolutely no commitments. This $4.99 monthly buy-in gives you access to every singles league, doubles league, and tournament we have available in your area, as well as the chance to qualify for our year-end National Championship...

And it gets better...

Not only can you play in all of our leagues for only $4.99 a month, but when you join the PlayYourCourt community you unlock free access to a long list of exclusive members only benefits.
