Prefer to have the student feel the action one is making so that they can eventually fix themselves and begin the process of becoming independent of the instruction versus relying on it. The student MUST understand the swing and movement to be able to self correct when playing and practicing. Encourage students to "practice" at least 10 minutes daily regardless of weather, location and schedule. This can include indoor half swings, visualization or the use of mirrors to see the action or other drills given to them during the lesson to assist the learning process. Making good habits requires 21 consecutive days of repetition to learn and ingrain. Winter is great time to learn a lot and get the body physically ready to participate come spring time.
