Wade Wilson is originally from Dallas, Texas. While growing up in Texas, he learned to play golf from his Dad at the age of 3 and started playing in junior golf tournaments at the age of 5. Wade was fortunate enough to have an uncle that owned Hillcrest Golf Club in Alvin, Texas where he was able to practice and play as a junior golfer. Wade attributes a lot of his success to Randy Smith, PGA Head Professional, at Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas, TX. It was there that Wade was part of the junior program along side current PGA Tour Professionals, Justin Leonard and Harrison Frazar. Wade developed a love for playing and learning about how the game is taught. Like many other golf professionals, Wade wanted to play on the Tour but realized that his ability to teach the game far exceeded his ability to play with his childhood friends on the tour.
