Byron has been playing and teaching golf for over 25 years. He is a former All-American, Team Captain, and MVP of the UCLA Golf Team. After a successful amateur career he went on to play professionally for 10 years on the Nationwide, Asian, South American and Golden State Tours. His 20 plus years of experience as a student to a number of PGA Tour playing professionals, including PGA Tour instructor Dr. David Wright, has given him a strong understanding of fundamentals and swing mechanics. Byron has been incorporating his extensive knowledge of golf to instruct his students, of all skill levels and playing abilities, for over 10 years. Having been a student of golf for many years himself, he enjoys the challenge of communicating his instruction with his students in a way that helps them internalize how to make the right changes to improve their game. Byron’s patient demeanor and attention to detail makes him a great instructor for both beginning and advanced golfers alike.

Do You Have Any Questions?

Can I book a trial lesson with you?

Most people purchase a minimum of 6 hours to start so I have enough time to look at your game and make a few quick fixes or develop a plan based on your goals. If for some reason you aren’t happy, PlayYourCourse can switch you to a different coach. If they can’t find a coach you like, they will refund you the remaining lessons. But if you would still like a trial lesson you can call 301.500.2516 to set one up.

How can I contact you?

Once you have booked your lesson package, you will immediately receive my contact information. If I don't hear from you, I will call you to finalize your lesson details. You will also receive an email with all of my contact information after you book.

Can you teach more than one person at a time?

Yes, I offer semiprivate lessons for up to five students at once. Each additional player is only an extra $60.00 per hour.

Do you offer group lessons?

Not at this time, but private lessons are a great way to learn the basics so you can develop the proper technique and excel faster. However, you can always bring your friends! Each additional student is only $60.00 extra.

When can I start?

As soon as you’d like!

What if it rains?

If it rains we'll reschedule for a sunny day! It won’t be counted as one of your lesson credits.

"I had taken a number of lessons from other golf instructors. Byron was different, and better. First, I had the feeling with other instructors that I wasn't a good enough player for them (even though I was seeking their help in getting better). I felt as if they really wanted to be working with a person who was close to a scratch handicap but instead was stuck with me, a mid-teens handicap. Byron seemed to genuinely like working with me and stated many times he really liked helping players like me see real improvement. Secondly, Byron listened to my ideas and helped me to translate those into real results.
